Please put your wet wipes in the bin rather than down the toilet. Although many say they are biodegradable, none are suitable to be flushed, and can cause wastewater to get blocked and overflow onto properties and pollute our waterways.
Dealing with blockages during the lockdown also puts our essential workers at risk.
Remember, washing your hands well with soap is still the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Most people can access food and other essential items for themselves and their whanau, either through their own means or through their community providers or support networks like whānau, friends, iwi and neighbours. For some people this is not a possibility and they may need extra help to access the things they need during self-isolation, like food and medicines.
Financial help to people is available through Work and Income. This works well when people have their own way of getting the goods they need.
If you have an urgent need for essential supplies and you don’t have the means or transport to get it yourselves, you can contact your local Civil Defence and Emergency Group (CDEM) for help. This service is intended for people and whanau who don’t have any other options available to them.
The service operates seven days a week from 7am to 7pm.
If you find yourself in this situation, please phone your local Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group.

Please call 111 if you have a fire, we will ask you whether anyone at the address is self-isolating or has a confirmed case of COVID-19. Where this is the case, we already have necessary measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety including protective clothing, gloves, masks, safety glasses and mask.

We do appreciate your help managing recycling at this time. Our best advice is to store your clean recycling if you can do so safely. If not, we understand some people will need to put it out in their rubbish.

The PM is saying she will look into it and no doubt Legislate , which good on her. She shouldn't really need to, as you would think... "FOODSTUFF'S"...." PROGRESSIVE"...should be compassionate in response to this "COVID19" situation, but here we are, and no surprise actually that these two monopolies play their game , and the average consumer have to pay the extravagant price hikes.
Yesterday morning I went to my local, "Tamatea Paknsave" and had 1st hand experience of these price hikes.
Greggs Coffee, usually $3.89 , yesterday $6.80 and the little sign with the price on it had "Everyday low price", what a joke.
I wont go through every price hike I noticed but found when I went to the check out my usual grocery bill of around $180- $200 indeed rose to $240.
Call it what you will.
In saying this, all praise to the supermarket workers who are doing an exceptional job in this time of crisis, they are at the forefront and risking their lives and there loved ones close to them when they return home from a hard days work to keep us consumers stocked up with our essentials.
I also commend all of my fellow neighbours for as I noticed probably 80% of people walking around the supermarkets were wearing facemasks, a big change to earlier on in the week when I only saw one person wearing a facemask.
Anyway I have digressed slightly. Supermarket prices will no doubt continue to rise and really not much we can do about it so "POSITIVE THINKING", Lets beat this "CURSED VIRUS".
On one good note I did notice a dozen of "Export Gold", has stayed at $19.99.
