Special … View moreSpecial Children's Christmas Parties held their Hawkes Bay event at the Pettigrew Green Arena in Taradale last weekend inviting over 800 special needs children and their caregivers to a fun day of free entertainment, food and also took home three quality toys to call their own.
Special Children's Christmas Parties have been organising these events for over 25 years across a number of main centres throughout New Zealand.
Now, every year in New Zealand, nearly 10,000 Kiwi children with special needs, challenging life or health circumstances are invited to a party like no other.
The annual event is made possible by many local businesses supporting this event including Neighbourly.co.nz.

Police are warning people to be on alert for the latest round of email scams referencing Police and other justice agencies.
The email claims authorities have done a search of the email recipient’s computer and located explicit illegal material.

The email claims authorities have done a search of the email recipient’s computer and located explicit illegal material.
The recipient is directed to reply within 72 hours, or a warrant will be issued for their arrest. This email is a scam and anyone who receives it should not reply under any circumstances.
Although some versions of the email do not specifically reference money, other similar scams involve the recipient being issued a ‘fine’ when they respond.
While the nature and specific details of scams often varies, it’s important to note that Police and other government agencies will never contact you out of the blue and ask for your password, credit card or bank details.
Police have received several reports of this scam and enquires are underway.
Anyone who received this email can either forward the spam email to the Department of Internal Affairs directly at complaint@spam.govt.nz or use their online reporting portal: www.reportspam.co.nz...
Police recommend taking a cautious approach to unsolicited emails. Trust your gut instinct - if it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.

The owner Palak tried with two cars to charge my battery, … View moreIt may not seem much to some, but to me, it restored my faith in humanity. I stopped at the Carlyle Street Dairy today and when I went to leave, my car wouldn't start. Go figure, battery dead, come on who hasn't it happened too. The owner Palak tried with two cars to charge my battery, to no avail. He suggested, I walk down to Marshall Batteries-Williams Auto Electrical, thankfully 2 minutes down the road. I did and without hesitation they came to my aid.
My car is in my garage now plugged into a charger. Thank you boys you are my hero's. I have not been to Marshall's before, but when I need their service that's where I will be going. Carlyle Street Dairy is my local go too, Palak and Ankita are sweethearts and I will always appreciate their service and kindness.
