Tradies of Dunedin - lock up your tools
Thousands of dollars worth of high-end tools have been stolen from tradesmen vans around Dunedin.
Tools from tradies’ vans, cars and building sites have been targeted across various Dunedin suburbs including; Maryhill to Belleknowes, Green Island to Mosgiel, Dunedin Central out to Tainui.
Police are encouraging tradies to get their tools engraved with their driver licence number, so if the tools are recovered, we can return them.
If anyone’s vehicle has been targeted, or if people have information which would help catch these offenders, please call Police on (03) 471 4800. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111. Read more
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
