Thank you to the unsung heroes in our community.
We at Avenal Park Funeral Home, acknowledge carers (who visit homes and care for those who are sick, elderly or disabled), cleaners, farmers, truck and passenger drivers, store attendants, workers who maintain our power lines and collect our rubbish, businesses who have supported essential services, those who have managed to work at home in their own bubble, and volunteers (who have made a difference in other people’s lives). And we thank everyone who has stayed at home to protect themselves and others.
The world as we know it has changed, but we are proud to be in a country that has shown kindness, respect and a willingness to work together – thank you.
Kia kaha from the staff at Avenal Park Funeral Home.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

What's your favourite tomato recipe?
Kia ora neighbours. We know your tomato plants are still growing, but we're looking ahead to the harvest already! If you've got a family recipe for tomatoes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine to share with our readers. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our February 2025 issue.
