Bloom Pukekohe Op Shop : Appreciation Post

Janet Wallington from Bloom Pukekohe Op Shop

🌟 Appreciation Post 🌟
Today marks 3 months since we opened the doors to the Bloom Pukekohe Op Shop, and we want to send out a HUGE ngā mihi nui β€” thank you to everyone who has been part of this wild ride! πŸ’›
It all began with the trust and confidence IHC New Zealand placed in Bloom Pukekohe, giving us the opportunity to take over the Counties IHC Op Shop. We're proud to continue empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to grow, learn, and live fulfilling lives in our community.
A heartfelt shoutout to Furniture Clearance Centre and the Franklin Local Board for helping us secure our amazing store location β€” and for your ongoing support. πŸ™Œ
To the awesome crews at Fortitude and Tilyards β€” thank you for making our big move smooth and seamless. πŸš›πŸ’ͺ
We are also incredibly grateful to Lotto NZ, the NZ Lottery Grants Board and Foundation North for their continued support β€” your contributions help make this all possible. πŸ™
A huge thank you to our dedicated team and board, whose hard work and vision drive everything we do. And to our incredible volunteers who show up each day with passion and purpose. We appreciate each and every one of you.❀️
Finally, to our wonderful community β€” your generosity, kindness, and encouragement have been nothing short of inspiring. From donations and shopping visits to kind words and shared stories, you've made this journey so special.
Here’s to many more months of making a blooming difference, together. πŸ’«

A riddle to start the festive season 🌲🎁🌟

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

I'm a fruit. If you take away my first letter, I'm a crime. If you take away my first two letters, I'm an animal. If you take away my first and last letter, I'm a form of music. What am I?

Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? πŸ’°πŸŒ²

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.

We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?

Keen to dig deeper? Mike White has the scoop.
