Raglan footbridge warning signs that could save lives are ripped down
The idyllic summertime of fun of jumping from wharfs and bridges into New Zealand's blue waters is hailed as a beloved part of "Kiwi culture". But a fast-rising toll of death and serious spinal injuries is now forcing leaden-footed authorities to take action. Waikato Regional Council says warning signs installed on the Raglan footbridge after the death of Richard Keremeta, 16, are regularly ripped down, and have to be replaced.
