Did you see the cupola being added to Whangārei's Hundertwasser building?
More than 1000 people watched as the cupola, covered in $50,000 worth of gold leaf, was lifted onto the Hundertwasser Art Centre and Wairau Māori Art Gallery on Friday morning. The onion-shaped lookout - commonly used as an architectural feature on palaces and cathedrals - is the last major exterior piece to go on the $33m building, which is set to open in December. Did you see the cupola being added on Friday? What do you think of the feature?
