Do you know the alternate route north?
State Highway 1 north of Whangārei will be closed this weekend for essential road works. The section, just north of Hikurangi, will be closed from 8pm on Friday to 8pm Sunday, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency said.
A 20-minute detour will be in place but motorists travelling north from Whangārei to Kawakawa (or further north) are encouraged to use State Highway 15. Do you know this route?
