He had six prior drink-driving convictions before her death on April 19. That day he spent seven hours drinking - including driving to the shops to replenish his stock - before getting behind the wheel again. Beattie-Rihari's brother said Sale could have just walked around Moerewa after he had been drinking. What are other ways of getting around Northland without drink-driving?

With Christmas fast approaching, we'd be keen to hear from those who spend the festive season (or part of it) away each year. Where do you go and why? What makes it such a great place to be at this time of year? What are you most looking forward to about the trip? Any words of advice you may have on things to do or places to eat or drink in the area would also be much appreciated. As usual, please put 'NFP' (not for publication) in your comment if you don't want it included in a travel article. Cheers.

Te Pēwhairangi/Bay of Islands bottlenose dolphins spend 86% of their day with boats. The population has sadly declined by 91% since 1997 to just 26 individuals.
There are marine mammal regulations to reduce the effect boats have on the bottlenose dolphins, and other marine mammals. Following these regulations is crucial to marine mammals continuing their normal behaviours critical to survival – such as feeding, resting and nursing their young.

So, I spent a weekend hitting the open homes and seeing what it's like to try to buy as a solo person. Folks, it's tough out there... As an older, single person, it's really tough. Take a look at how I found "the churn" and let me know how it compares to your experience.
