Severe weather warning for Northland
A low is expected to move southeast across the upper North Island this afternoon and evening, and lie near East Cape late Saturday morning, bringing rain to much of the North Island. The heaviest falls are expected in Northland, and a Warning is in force. Up to 100mm of rain could accumulate during today.
Heavy rain may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Surface flooding and slips are also possible and driving conditions may be hazardous.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
