"Anyone who knows anything about shags, especially the big ones, knows that I risk much to bring you this unique angle. Nearly had to ride home in my underwear with all the windows down - it's happened before. Pied shag/ kāruhiruhi (Phalacrocorax varius) at the Waimanu Lagoons at Waikanae. Bird #34 in 2023."
