CHOO CHOO! Free Train rides this Sunday !

We love the Queen Elizabeth Park Miniature Train. So many families come specially to the beautiful park fort his neat experience. This Sunday (28th) is a celebration of 50 years of operation on the island. There'll be free rides from 11.00am till 4.00pm.Enjoy lunch on the island - there will be food stalls and a Brass band too .
The railway is run by volunteers with drivers and ticket sellers, Masterton businesses also play a large part in the success of the railway donating services or goods over many years helping keep operating costs low.

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
