New mountain bike for Masterton
With a brand new $1.3 million skatepark just about to open, young Masterton people can also look forward to the construction of a new mountain bike park in their town.
Masterton District Council has agreed to let a mountain biking group use a section of hillside on the northern edge of town for a series of professionally designed and built tracks.
Project organiser Sam McDonald said they were excited to release details of the plan including designs of three kilometres of track to be built in Lansdowne.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
