Destination Wairarapa is developing a Destination Management Plan with the community that will help guide the region to become a must visit place for travellers that the whole community is involved in.
We need your opinions and views to help understand our region’s tourism future aspirations and expectations of tourism here. Already there appears to be a strong appetite to investigate opportunities around coastal and bush experiences, local Maori history, dark skies, evening tours and supporting events.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
