Solway Neighbourhood Planning Meeting

Connecting Communities Wairarapa Inc

Dear Residents
Just a reminder we have a Neighbourhood Plan Meeting this Sunday, we look forward to working with you.
Kind regards Sandy Ryan and Aaron Bacher

DATE: Sunday 6 August
TIME: 2.30pm
VENUE: St James Church Hall, High Street South

We have received a response to your submission to the Masterton District Council annual plan. In response to your submission, Council resolved:
Council will work with Connecting Communities Wairarapa and the Solway Community Group to advocate with Greater Wellington Regional Council for a review of the bus services in the Solway area.
Staff will work with Connecting Communities Wairarapa and the Solway Community Group to prioritise work and future improvements. Please note some budget is available but it is unallocated and needs to be prioritised.
LED lighting will replace the existing street lighting throughout the urban area next year. Any additional lighting needs will be assessed after these are installed.
Council has a regular programme of roading and footpath renewals. We invite you to contact council staff regarding your specific areas of concern so they can be investigated.
the southern entry to Masterton is managed by New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). Council is working with NZTA to prioritise the installation of roundabouts and southern entry improvements. Please note the Council does not have authority to change speed zones at the moment given NZTA is currently consulting on speed zones.
Further carparks are being developed at Solway Station by the Greater Wellington Regional Council
Staff will investigate the drain at William Donald Drive and develop options for safety improvements at the site
Copies of the annual plan are available on the Council website www.mstn.govt.nz...

Please attend and participate at our next meeting on Sunday 6 August at 2.30pm. We need to develop an action plan identifying the priorities for the next twelve months.
Light afternoon tea provided.

Solway Neighbourhood Planning Group

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
