Lansdowne Neighbourhood Planning Meeting Wednesday July 26, 6.30pm

Connecting Communities Wairarapa Inc

As you are aware the Lansdowne Neighbourhood Plan Working Party made a submission to the Masterton District Council Annual Plan on your behalf.

MDC have sent the Working Party a letter with the following comments:

Council received 75 submissions in total and 42 submitters were heard at the Annual Plan Hearings. All submissions were considered by the MDC Hearings Committee and subsequently reviewed and confirmed at a Council meeting on 28 June 2017.
The final Annual Plan 2017-18 has resulted in an average rates increase of 2.3%.
In response to your submission, Council resolved:

To refer your suggestions to the Community Facilities and Activities team who will liaise with the Lansdowne Neighbourhood Plan Working Group to identify priorities and costs.
To advise that Council understands your concerns about the lack of toilet but there are no current plans for public toilet facilities in Lansdowne
To advise that Council received an Annual Plan submission regarding a Masterton Propaganda Garden Public Project, that aims to encourage people to grow their own organic vegetables, herbs and flowers. There may be an opportunity for your two groups to work together. Council staff will liaise with both parties to enable this.
The Annual Plan 2017-18 will be made available on the council website www.mstn.govt.nz... in July 2017. If you would like a hard copy of the plan please contact council on 3706300 or email admin@mstn.govt.nz to request a copy.

The Agenda for our next meeting will include:
MDC's response to our Annual Plan submission
Developing a priority list of actions
Establishing our own entity i.e. a Residents Association, is it time?
Other residents submission responses: if you made a submission to the annual plan in relation to Lansdowne and would like to share your response from MDC please bring your letter to this meeting.
