For those who are unsure, NOBODY should be doing more than 5 knots anywhere within 200m of a shoreline (this includes rivers). … View moreAn increasing number of people seem to think the Waipu river is a great place to rip up and down on jetskis and waterski, and claim not to know about the speed limits. For those who are unsure, NOBODY should be doing more than 5 knots anywhere within 200m of a shoreline (this includes rivers). Jetskis are also required to clearly display a registration number or be liable for an instant fine. If you wish to help educate others and keep our rivers and beaches safe for swimmers and non-motorised craft (as well as preventing erosion), I've attached some screen shots below and here is a link to the full rules: www.nrc.govt.nz...
