Tararu Store and Bait Station is now officially under new Management. Many improvements have been made over the last few weeks and things are changing daily to help and make the customer more welcome.
The store is gradually building up its present stock of your daily ‘wants’ and ‘needs’ and with five fridges alone for drinks we are bound to have what you want. Not forgetting that we are your No1. Stop for ‘Ice Cream’ with a selection to die for……. Ummmhh.
TAKE-AWAYS ……. Yes, we are back doing Take-aways. The menu list will be changing soon but we are still covering everything that was here previously. The Take-away times of opening are:
Sun, Tue, Wed - Noon to 18.30pm and Thu, Fri, Sat - Noon to 20.00pm. Monday, NO Take-Away.

For the guys and girls who are going fishing, we have every bait you require and all at a very reasonable price. Our Bait and Fishing Guru is Vernon who was the previous owner of Early Bird Bait & Tackle in Totara. If there is anything that he doesn’t know about fishing the Firth, then it’s not worth knowing. Our bait is premium quality with Brands including, Salty Dog, Seaworks, Southern Baits and Coastal Baits. We are here to satisfy the customer and our huge list includes, Razor Belly Pillies, Silver Pillies, NZ Pillies, Illex Squid, Baby Squid, Mullet, Bonito, Jack Mackerel, Blue Mackerel, Baby Blues, Piper, Ballyhoo, Finger Mullet, Anchovies, Bullet Tuna and all Salted Baits. The Berley list includes Salmon, Mussel, Kina, Mackerel and Fish in all weights. There is a very good selection of Tackle and anything you are unsure of, just ask Vernon. We look forward to meeting old friends and please don’t hesitate to let your friends know. For the weekend ‘Fishos’ we are open at 04.30am. and don’t forget the free bag of Salt Ice for every $50.00 spent on bait.
