Te Kauwhata Christmas Parade 14th December

Kath from Te Kauwhata

Christmas Parade Main Street, Te Kauwhata
14th December 2018

A very well attended event with a party atmosphere. It's held on Friday 14th, the day the schools close for the holidays and so they are all very excited.
There is the giant stocking full of all sorts of donated goodies that people really want to win, which is raffled off. So hope you have your tickets.
The floats are mainly Christmas themed, and there are around 15 to 20 of them. The parade through the street starts around 7pm and there are prizes for the best.
St John and the Fire Service bring vintage vehicles and allow people to sit in them.
The Four Square donates sausages which are cooked by our Lions (a free sausage for everyone!) and the Fire-brigade hand out Ice blocks for all the kids from the back of Santa's float.
Rides are half price and the stalls are spaced all along the main street.etc.
Music and a live band are at both events and of course both have a good variety of stalls and food vendors.

Time to Tickle Your Thinker 🧠

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

If a zookeeper had 100 pairs of animals in her zoo, and two pairs of babies are born for each one of the original animals, then (sadly) 23 animals don’t survive, how many animals do you have left in total?
