Our littlest people need your help. Poverty doesn’t start at 5, but until now there’s been no nationwide programme to help preschoolers who are hungry and cold.
KidsCan is changing that. They’re delivering raincoats, shoes and five fresh meals a week to 25 early childhood centres. Attendance is up, and the children are happier and more settled.
"Everyone has the same meal so children don't feel like they have less," Manaia View Kindergarten teacher Kathy Belz says. "It's upholding everyone's mana.”
40 more centres are waiting for help. KidsCan, Stuff and Neighbourly have partnered up to raise enough money to support 1000 more children - and we need 400 more generous Kiwis to hold little hands. To support a child, sign up at KidsCan.org.nz

CAN WE MANAGE IT AGAIN THIS YEAR?
Working with Middlemore Foundation our goal is to get a new pair of pyjamas to each child before the cold weather arrives and colds and other winter ills increase. This project has a few local community trusts working together for the good of our children. Pyjamas can be left at the Pukekohe Anglican Church, 37 Queen St, or TopNotch Engraving at 28 King St, Pukekohe. We hope to add more drop-off points over the next week. We can provide a dedicated bank account number for this project if you'd prefer to make a donation instead of buying the pyjamas yourself. For more details contact Jan on 0274-521-366

The displays, which are open every day until a week after Easter, are intended to help us reflect on Jesus' life, death and resurrection and what this means in our lives today. All are welcome to visit the displays, which are at the Anglican complex on the corner of Queen St and Wesley St.
