I am a graduate of the marae-centred programme, Te Pouhono, transforming Māori communities, promoting mātauranga-a-hapū, a-iwi. My participation took me to the Bachelor of Mātauranga Māori, and then postgraduate study.
Awanuiārangi centres you. This is the nurturing space of Māori researchers, with the support of academic and professional staff; this all transpires from an authentic indigenous and traditional Māori environment.
My studies have empowered me to play a more pro-active role in whānau and hapū affairs. Instead of being angry at a past that we cannot change, let’s become part of the solution for positive change.

After years of searching for a new recruit for their business, Auckland engineering firm Stainless Machinings turned to Competenz’s free job matching service to find them an ideal candidate.
In the space of a few short months, school leaver Stuart Martin joined the company.

As you may know, Pukekohe been plagued by break-ins, with nearly a dozen hits in just three weeks.
Since July 19, retailers and eateries on King St, Pukekohe, and eateries have faced a raft of attempted and successful burglaries, with some considering packing up shop.
On Wednesday, a 20-year-old man was charged with three counts of burglary, police said. He will appear in the Pukekohe District Court on Thursday.

Kia ora neighbours, a motorcyclist has been hospitalised after suffering “life-changing” injuries in a crash at Karioitahi beach, south of Auckland, over the weekend prompting police to issue a reminder to be safe while on the beach.
