Kia Ora neighbours,

We have a fun school holiday programme over 22-24 April, with a theme of Peacekeepers. Along with our usual schedule of games, arts and crafts, songs and more, we are also taking a look at ANZAC Day and going to along to the RSA to talk with veterans about their experiences. We know they will have a lot of wisdom to share with us.

Times are tough, so we only charge a koha for the programme, as we love to support the community. We provide a delicious and nutritious morning tea and lunch for the tamariki.

Spots get snapped up, so get in quickly by calling our lovely admin Rachel on 476 7137 or by emailing stnup@xtra.co.nz

Hello everyone. For a new project we have planned at the cemetery, we need Renga Renga Lily (Arthropdium) seeds. And lots of them ! Lots and lots ...

So we are asking if you would please check your gardens for this lovely native plant and cut the seed heads off for us. Now is the perfect time to collect as the seed heads are drying, and for us to put them to good use at the cemetery.

We'll be at the Shelter (in the centre of the cemetery) on Sunday 7th April, 10:00am - 12:00pm to receive the seeds. We've also left some buckets on the seats at the Shelter you can leave seed in if it's not convenient to come on Sunday morning (see photo).

We appreciate everyone's help to make the cemetery even prettier 🙂 🌿

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.

Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

We have two main topics we are consulting on. These are:

🚌Should Greater Wellington own the region's bus assets (depots and charging stations)?

Should Greater Wellington own 100% of CentrePort?

The region's buses are owned by private companies and operated on our behalf. We are proposing the ownership of buses, depots, and charging infrastructure to provide long-term security and future-proof facilities.

Currently we own 76.92% of the shares for CentrePort. We are proposing the purchase of the remaining 23.08% to establish 100% control of the shares. Full ownership means CentrePort will remain in public ownership and enable us to determine its future.

Do you agree or disagree with these proposals? Let us know your thoughts in the link below 👇
