The Future of Space
There is no doubt that the space industry is literally “taking off” around the world.
Global giants like Tesla and NASA have ambitious plans to integrate space technology (and travel) into our everyday lives.
But how does New Zealand fit into all of this? What does the future of space industry look like for us? And how can students of today get involved in the space industry for tomorrow?
Explore the answers to all these questions and more, with Amber Joseph, co-founder and National President of the New Zealand Students' Space Association on Friday 9 August from 6pm!
Our friends from the Wellington Astronomical Society will also be here after the talk with their telescopes for some stargazing if the sky is clear!
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.2% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.6% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
15.2% ... It is complicated
