Update on Pakuratahi Forest
PF Olsen are moving through the 48ha of commercial pine to be felled. Tunnel Drive (from Maymorn Gate through the forest to the tunnel) is open on weekends only at this stage. For safety reasons this is the only public access while works continue. It will be open after 5pm on weekdays from 1 October. Please follow all signage to keep safe!
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
