NZ Post and Courierpost
What is this world coming too or should I say what is the postal service coming too. First they cut deliveries back to 3 days maybe that is why it took a parcel 3 weeks from Auckland North Shore to arrive at my address in Waiwhetu. "Disgusting service". Today I was expecting a parcel which I paid for overnight and signature required to be delivered. When I rung to find out why it was not delivered the reply was they had a breakdown at Courier Post in Wellington. Turns out the conveyor belt had broken down. Hello suggest they get off their backsides and sort the parcels like we used to manually. I was then told that it would be delivered on Friday which is actually too late as it was required tomorrow. Considering I got an update to say it is now sitting at Seaview depot waiting for courier. I actually queried another parcel that showed it was sent on the Saturday but did not leave the courier depot where it was being sent from until Monday night when it was then sorted but did not leave until the tuesday.
When I worked at NZ Post Office back in the 70's we had a 7 day 24 hour service, whereas now you are lucky if it is 3 days a week and 8 hours a day. Postal Services have gone back to the dark ages and it is time that the govt (Labour) stepped in and took charge instead of NZ Post being allowed to make their own decisions. Back before the Post Office was split we had a Postmaster General who reported to the Minister and they did not make their own decisions like they do now.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
