We have been working towards protecting the coast from erosion with the 2015-35 long term plan. Previously, the council have aimed for a shared pathway and upgraded lights, now their focus is on the coastline.
Kapiti Coast District Council are developing a plan to improve town centers, focusing on Paraparaumu and Waikanae. Take a look at their online newspaper for new information on the project:

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
