Thank you!

Alice from Wainuiomata

I just want to thank the work truck driver who’s quick thinking stopped a careless female driver undertaking him and almost running myself and my 3 year old over on the crossing beside Daily Bread Bakery this morning. I was crossing safely carrying my daughter, the truck with 2 men in it stopped and we waved to say thank you, I hadn’t seen a women sneaking up and quickly undertaking him. He spotted it and wedged his truck in front of her blocking her car with his truck. People I know you’re all in a rush in the morning but if traffic is stopped at a crossing please think before passing any other vehicle. If it hadn’t been for his keen observation skills and quick thinking myself or my daughter could of been road kill. Car vs pedestrians we would of stood no chance. I had waited till traffic stopped before crossing I hadn’t just stepped out into moving traffic this is beyond stupid what the woman did.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
