Support for Tania Rivers 24 Hour Walkathon

Philip Neighbourly Lead from Wainuiomata

On one of my rare early morning walks from Woburn to Home (Wainuiomata) I decided to create a time-lapse video at the top of the Summit. These things usually take about 48mins of downtime for the camera to complete. It was during this moment I got to meet a Young Lady named Tania who was power walking towards Lower Hutt. After small introductions she handed me a pamphlet and gave a brief explanation of what it was all about, then continued on down the hill.

Reading the pamphlet gives a better picture of her story and what it is she is trying to achieve, heres a link:-

It didn't take long for her to come back the other way and we talked more about her goal. I admire people who try to improve themselves mentally and physically, I'm happy to support in anyway I can. Not only by a small donation but also to be there at some time of the day to cheer her on (I was thinking about walking by her side but I doubt I could keep up). That is a lot of walking up and down Wainuiomata Hill for 24 hours. So keep an eye out for her on the 15th Feb 2019, wave and voice your encouragement (psst drivers concentrate on the road).

BTW, here's the timelapse I did (note it's in 4K UHD)-

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
