Watch out for the wind today - gusts of 160kmh are expected around Hutt Valley and Wellington this afternoon, continuing on until mid-morning Thursday. Secure any loose outdoor equipment like rubbish bins and take care when driving, especially in small vehicles or on motorbikes. NZTA has issued a warnings of strong winds on Stat Highway 2 at Rimutaka Hill.
