A second track for the Trentham-Upper Hutt railway line
Kia ora residents. We're adding a second track to the line between Trentham and Upper Hutt. Double-tracking will mean more services and, in time, longer and faster trains. We're preparing the ground from August. Construction starts in October and continues for around 18 months. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
