Volunteers needed for Upper Hutt Red Cross
Can you spare a couple of hours per week strengthening our Upper Hutt community? The Red Cross Upper Hutt Branch is in need of volunteers for our Meals on Wheels service where we bring dinner to seniors from Upper Hutt. If interested, please call our office at 528-9162 (Monday to Friday from10:00 am to 1:00 pm.) and ask for De'Anne Jackson. Join the largest humanitarian organization in the world that has been working for the past 90 years in our Upper Hutt Community and have a most rewarding enjoyable experience with this group of fantastic volunteers.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
