Nourish kai hampers packed and ready to Xmas

Reporter Community News

It was a big target, but Claire Turner and Gabrielle Ralph rose to the challenge.
The pair from charity Nourish kai hampers raised $135,000 so as many as 1000 families in-need won’t face bare cupboards this Christmas.
About 80 volunteers packed 1000 hampers worth $150 for those who need it most across Porirua, Hutt Valley and Tawa on Saturday – the highest number the charity has put together, and double last year’s demand.

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Wellington’s identity is built on its cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.

in need of Hydrangeas for wedding

Linda from Avalon

Hello everyone
My daughter is getting married this Saturday 28th February and the venue was battered by the storm and destroyed a lot of the flowers we were allowed to use. I'm reaching out to see if anyone has any green white or baby pink hydrangeas in their garden that they wouldn't mind parting with ?
Would be very much appreciated

Thank you
Linda
