Volunteers wanted for NZ Blood Service
NZ Blood Service is looking for people who are interested in volunteering at our new mobile blood drive in Avalon. Volunteers will be responsible for serving refreshments and making sure our blood donors are well looked after. Training and support is provided.
There are currently opportunities for both morning and afternoon shifts on Thursdays and Fridays, from mid-November.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Public Transport fares face 70% increase..
Wellington region users says increases to public transport fares of more than 70 percent would be "ludicrous", and would lead to them working from home more often, or taking the car rather than the bus.
