July School Holiday Art Classes at Artspace Gallery - Thursday 11th July

Alfred Memelink Artspace Gallery

Do you have creative kids? then this art class could be one of the most rewarding and satisfying activities they could do in the July school holidays. Drop your kids off at Petone's Artspace Gallery and while you head off for a coffee morning, we'll guide them through painting their own watercolour of the Petone Foreshore that they'll be so soooo of.

There's a choice of two, 2 hour workshops on Thursday 11th July to choose from, 10am or 1pm start. Cost of $25 includes all materials. Just turn up empty handed and pick up your child again after two hours later with their completed watercolour painting to be proud of and a smile of creative satisfaction on their dial.

Suitable for ages 7 to 17. No previous art experience is required - these workshops are suitable for both beginners and more experienced watercolour artists who would like to fine tune their skills and style. Don't worry about drawing as this will already be done for you to enable us to focus on the joys of watercolour painting. .

This painting will also be the subject of the next 'Wine & Watercolour' art class in the evening for adults.

🌉🛶 Early Birds Might Crack This One First… or Not? 🥚🧠

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

A person is crossing a bridge and sees a boat full of people, yet there isn't a single person on board.
How is this possible?

(Susan from Massey kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Susan!)

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Wellington’s identity is built on its cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
