Bring Back the Blue Shed on Petone Wharf - Youth Watercolour Workshop

Alfred Memelink Artspace Gallery

Do you miss the blue shed on Petone Wharf too? here's your chance to bring it back (with a little artistic license). Petone Wharf with the iconic blue shed, is the subject for the next watercolours for youth art class at Petone's Artspace Gallery.

No previous experience required and the drawing will already be done for you to enable us to focus on the joys of painting. We’ll start by painting the sky and applying free watercolour washes 'wet into wet' to create some soft edged clouds and then other watercolour techniques for the rest of the painting.

$25 includes all materials. just turn up empty handed and leave two hours later with your own completed watercolour painting and a beaming smile of creative satisfaction. (generously sponsored by Watercolour New Zealand, supporting youth into watercolours)

Saturday afternoon 1st June 1 - 3pm

Suitable for ages 7 - 17

🌉🛶 Early Birds Might Crack This One First… or Not? 🥚🧠

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Wellington’s identity is built on its cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.
