"It's not enough to catch your dinner, you also have to stop your mates from nabbing it. I was pretty pleased with this photo from Henley Lake in Masterton. I've entered it in the NZ Geo competition, but even if I don't get anywhere, I still think it's a cracker. Three black shags/māpunga (Phalacrocorax carbo) fighting over an eel."
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
