Taitā candidate running in council elections
Kia Ora, I’m Brady Dyer, a local candidate standing for re-election as a city-wide councillor. At this years election you can choose up to six city-wide councillors, so I’m trying to rally a bit of homegrown support from my neighbours. I love living in this part of our city, and have really enjoyed making new friends since buying our first home here just over a year ago. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
