Thank you to Lower Hutt community from Soroptimists

Vanessa from Waiwhetu

Lower Hutt Soroptimists wish to thank friends, family and members of the Lower Hutt community who took part in our ‘Ukraine Connection’ virtual film fundraiser. This was in aid of East European Soroptimist groups to support Ukrainian refugee families, especially women and children, who are flooding across the borders into their countries. Groups in Moldova, Poland and Romania are providing food, water, blankets and, where possible, shelter to these refugees. They put out a call for financial help to get more food and blankets to support more refugees. Feedback from our post-fundraiser survey indicates the virtual event raised in excess of $1000 NZD – thank you to participants for your generosity!
