If you’ve seen the current Ryman TV commercial, then you’ve probably seen Judy rowing past the camera on a beautiful still Auckland morning.

Rowing is one of Judy’s passions, and she’s had great success with it, competing up and down the country since picking up the sport in her 50s. A highlight in her rowing career was in 2017 when Judy, along with her rowing partner Alison, competed in The World Masters Games, winning a silver medal in the 1000m Women’s Pairs.

She currently holds the title of top women's single sculler in the 70-75 year age group in New Zealand and is second in the North Island for the 65-75 year age group.

Adventure is in Judy’s DNA. She’s always up for hitting the open road and exploring the fantastic wilderness that Aotearoa has to offer. When she’s not rowing, Judy loves to hike. And she’s no stranger to several hard South Island trails.

Having a lifestyle this active and busy means that Judy doesn’t want to be worrying about her home while she is away. She chose Ryman’s Murray Halberg Village because it suits all her needs, right down to the location near the water as well as all the safety and security benefits.

“It’s a lock up and leave it situation,” she says.

FINAL UPDATE - 5:55PM, 10/12

Service has now been fully restored.

Residents, please run a cold tap for a few minutes to clear any air pockets or cloudy water from your pipes before using hot taps, dishwashers and washing machines.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

--------------------------------------

UPDATE 7 - 5:25PM, 10/12

The team have completed the repairs and are currently charging up the mains to restore full service.
Please note that even though service has been restored, it may take some time to get back to normal pressure due to the time taken to slowly re-charge the pipes.
We'll provide a final update once flushing of the pipes and all testing has been completed.
Thanks to affected residents for your patience and understanding while our crews have worked on these repairs!
--------------------------------------
UPDATE 6 - 3:50PM, 10/12
Good progress is being made with the repair, and we expect full service to be restored early this evening.
Service is slowly returning to most affected areas, with the only areas fully without water being Barberry Grove and 1-31 Mulberry St.
While service is being restored, residents may experience fluctuations in pressure.
Teams will be in the area running hydrants to flush the pipes for some time.
We'll provide a further update once service has been fully restored.
--------------------------------------
UPDATE 5 - 1:30PM, 10/12
Our crews are still hard at work repairing the burst.
Some properties may be experiencing low pressure, and others no water.
We expect water to be fully restored to the below areas later this afternoon.
1-31 Mulberry Street
All of Bushey Way
1 to 120, 181 to 193 Dowse Drive
All of Magnolia Grove
All of Walnut Way
Repair of a further leak on Barberry Grove means we expect service will be restored for Barberry Grove residents early this evening.
Water tankers are stationed near 60 Mulberry Street and the intersection of Dowse Drive and Bushey Way, and bottled water is also available.
--------------------------------------
UPDATE 4 - 11:18AM, 10/12
If you see water rushing out of a fire hydrant, there's no need to worry - it's part of the ongoing repair.
Our crews will be flushing selected fire hydrants around the affected area.
This helps remove air from the network pipes and manage correct pressure levels, as we work to restore water service to the area.
--------------------------------------
UPDATE 3 - 10:30AM, 10/12
Please see below for an updated list of affected properties:
1-31 Mulberry Street
All of Barberry Grove
All of Bushey Way
1 to 120, 181 to 193 Dowse Drive
All of Magnolia Grove
All of Walnut Way
--------------------------------------
UPDATE 2 - 10AM, 10/12
Our crews are continuing work on the repair, and we're able to provide a better picture of the properties affected.
Please note that some properties will have low pressure, and others no water.
See the updated map attached for the area affected, with arrows pointing to the location of the water tankers. Some bottled water is available, but please bring containers to fill if possible.

---------------------------------------

Mōrena Maungaraki,

Our crews are onsite, working on repairing the last of three bursts that occurred last night.

Water is shut off to Mulberry St, Hibiscus, Chestnut, Jacaranda and Barberry Grove and Bushey Way. Due to the complex nature of the leak, we can't provide an estimate on when it will be restored.

Two water tankers will be in the area from approximately 07:30am, ready to provide water to affected residents. One will be near 60 Mulberry Street and the other at the intersection of Dowse Drive and Bushey Way.

Please do not run hot taps to make sure your hot water cylinder doesn't run dry.

Please check Facebook for more information.

As well as producing a mountain of beautiful knitted items to donate for charity, the ladies provide each other with friendship, support and most of all a good giggle.

There is even a sub-group who meet on a Saturday who call themselves the Knackered Knitters where the ante is upped, the music is broken out and the natter can get naughty!

“Yesterday we were dancing queens,” says Sue, who moved into the village 18 months ago.

“Sylvia knitted right through it,” she laughs.

“My feet were dancing!” adds Sylvia.
