"I am a sweet dog looking for my forever home. I am looking for a very special home that can understand my quirks and needs, a home that can help me thrive and be the best companion I can be.
My ideal home would be one that has had previous large dog experience and/or greyhound experience. I walk beautifully on a lead but in saying that, I would need a home that can handle me as I can be strong when I want. I have had a fair amount of training from my previous home but there is always room for more growth. I am super smart and a lover of all yummy foods so will pick up new things very quickly.
I can be shy when meeting new people so I would love a quiet patient home that can read when I am not comfortable. A home with no children would be best for me. Being part greyhound, I am also not suited to a home with cats or any small animals. If you think you are the home for me contact SPCA’s Canine Team for more information."

How would you like to be pensioners in their 80's receiving letters out of the blue, telling you your income tax return was overdue.
How also would you like to be an 83 old woman who has been in and out of hospital twice this year and is confined to a wheel chair been told you are required to do this within 30days and can do so by going to ird.govt./myIR a lady who turning on the telly. is hard enough but would not have a clue regarding computers and the internet.

Surprise, surprise, another letter with the post date the same as the previous one, stating they have charge a late filing penalty of $50.
incidentally we both got similar letter with similar requirements and demands and also all letter had the same issuing date.
Try to contact ird by phone is an near impossibility.
We had previously been told a couple of years previous that as we were on the basic pension there was no need to fill in such forms, incidentally also, we had never received any form anyway.
The outcome, after hours of time and effort investigating, is that as we had a part pension from the UK which is topped up by WINZ although WINZ taxes the NZ part of my top up they do not tax the UK portion so
ALL YOU BRITS OUT THERE you could be liable if you do not fill forms in and declare your part UK pension.
We are finally clear, till next tax year, after filing and declaring the small amount I get from the oveseas part-pension, I also have never received any Kiwi Saver type allowance for my part pension, so watch out guys!
you may be getting your KIWI SAVINGS as a supplement to you pension at present, we don't we get the lot deducted from our pension as they said you cannot get two pension payments so bit of an anomaly creeping in here.
Watch out guys! once they get everyone into Kiwi Saver, mark my words, you will all be getting one pension and your Kiwi saving will be deducted like our is, from your basic pension.

Always finding your neighbour’s cats in your garden?

Even though we all love animals, we are not always fans of other people’s cats doing their business in our gardens. Luckily, there is a handy, and animal-friendly, trick for this!

Cats are wonderful and cute animals, of course, but they’re a bit less cute when they pee, poo and dig all over our garden. This can cause a lot of trouble for you and your garden, so you might be looking for some tips to help prevent this! Because we are animal lovers, we don’t like the idea of scaring off cats with chemicals or nasty methods that aren’t animal friendly. We believe keeping cats out of your garden can also be done in a natural way.

There are several ways to discourage cats from coming into your garden that are in no way harmful to the cat but do give the required result. For instance, cats don’t like certain scents, which means you can use those to keep them out.

After asking around for a bit, we found out that a lot of people have trouble with neighbourhood cats in their garden. Some people love seeing those cute animals wandering around their garden, but other people would rather chase them away immediately. Everybody has their own methods for this as well. The most common method seems to be trying to scare the cat by yelling and waving your arms. Others go outside with a glass of water to try to pour over the cat. Of course, these methods don’t have the desired result. Some people get so frustrated that they end up in the newspaper because they tried shooting at the cats! That’s not what we want, so we’ve got a few tips for you instead.

Cats don’t like the smells of vinegar and citrus peel.

So, you can keep cats out of your garden pretty easily by putting bowls of vinegar or citrus peel in various places around the garden (in particular those places the cat likes to visit). The cat will then definitely stay away from those places. Another thing cats hate is cayenne pepper. So, it may be worth scattering a generous amount of cayenne pepper in places the cats like to visit. Then again, this may cause the cat to start sneezing violently, which make us feel a bit sorry for it.

If you don’t have any of these products at home and don’t feel like going to the supermarket, you could also try using garlic, ground coffee or chili pepper. Did you know about these natural, cat-resistant tips? Share them with your friends!
