The Queensgate Mall to rebuild movie complex.
Following the November 2016 Kaikōura earthquake, the Events Cinema in Queensgate Mall was substantially damaged and subsequently demolished.
The rebuild of the cinema and a section of the carpark will begin next month, with the new carparking ready by Christmas 2019. The new, state-of-the-art cinema complex is anticipated to open in 2020.
