COVID-19 testing numbers
We will now be publishing information about the number of people tested for COVID-19 in our region. We will publish these figures every weekday to give you a clearer picture of what is happening in our area.
We are now at Alert Level 2 and it’s important to remain vigilant. If you, or a family member has COVID-like symptoms, please call Healthline on 0800 358 5453.
You may be referred to a Community Based Testing Centres or GP. Testing is free and CBAC locations can be found here:

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Public Transport fares face 70% increase..
Wellington region users says increases to public transport fares of more than 70 percent would be "ludicrous", and would lead to them working from home more often, or taking the car rather than the bus.
