Does this switchboard look familiar? It could be time for an upgrade

Andy from Illuminex Electrical

Of the roughly 5000 building fires in New Zealand every year, about 1000 are due to electrical problems.
The switchboard is the heart of the home when it comes to electrical, however many NZ homes still lack proper electrical protection.
The switchboard pictured contains an asbestos backing panel and outdated fuses which have zero protection against you or your family receiving nasty electric shocks. If your switchboard doesn't contain electrocution protection devices such as RCD's, then it is due for an upgrade.

Here's an interesting read regarding electrical & fire safety;

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

I have two faces, but show you only one.
I once had guests, but now have none.
Iโ€™m rarely bloody and seldom blue.
Iโ€™m often promised and sometimes new

(Trev from Tamatea kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Trev!)

Poll: Tightening the belt at the pump ... How are you pivoting? ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Between the headlines about the Strait of Hormuz and the creeping costs at our local stations, the "fuel crisis" has moved from the news to our wallets.

A recent opinion piece in The Post suggested that Wellington Councils should be shifting our public facilities to renewable energy ASAP to keep our rates from being vulnerable to these global fuel hikes. Itโ€™s a big conversation for the city, but what about your daily commute?

We want to know: With fuel prices staying high for the foreseeable future, are you changing how you get around the capital?
