How do you feel about going Dutch?

Reporter The Hutt News

After Wellington cyclist Labu Na was knocked unconscious by a car door that opened in front of her on Rintoul St in November, there have been calls for the introduction of the 'Dutch Reach' to keep cyclists safe. The Dutch reach forces drivers to turn and look behind them before opening their door. It has been taught in the Netherlands for years and people there are required to demonstrate it before they can pass a driving test.
