Koraunui Ukulele performing Our Plan

DJ from Naenae

We wrote Our Plan last Saturday and it is our first original song for 2023.
www.youtube.com...
We're [D] gonna to save the world
But [A7] first we're gonna need a [D] plan
[Men] (We need a pla-an, we need a pla-an)
We [D] want to make it better
Be[A7]fore it gets out of [D] hand
[Women] (So out of ha-and, way out of ha-and)
[G] Climate change or stopping wars which one do we choose?
[D] Maybe we can throw a dice [A7] catch us on the news
We're [D] gonna to save the world
But [A7] first we're gonna need a [D] plan. [A7]

[Em] Climate change, what the
[A7] Hail you say, happened to the [D] weather?
[Women] (The weather, what happened to the weather?)
[Em] Who’s to blame?
[A7] Forestry, people or [D] chickens
[Men] (Who you calling chickens?)
We [G] burnt the trees and [A7] started global warming
[D] Call a hui, back to [Bm] basic
Just [G] keep on taking
[A7] One little step at a [D] time. [A7]

[Chorus]

[Em] Stopping war
[A7] Why do we kill one a[D]nother?
[Women] (Why do we kill? Kill one another?)
With [Em] me, in charge
We’d [A7] stop man’s hunger for [D] power
[Men] (Hunger, hunger for power)
[G] Kill the inciter or [A7] spread the love
Or [D] put all our faith in the [Bm] lord above
Be [G] happy and contented and
[A7] Always, be there on [D] time. [A7]

[D] You write the verses and [G] I’ll write the chorus
([D] You write the verses and [G] I’ll write the chorus)
[E] Nah, you write the verses (nah [A] I’ll write the chorus)
([E] You write the verses and [A] We’ll write the chorus)
[F] I’ll write the verses and [Bb] You write the chorus
([F] You write the verses and [Bb] we’ll write the chorus).

We're [F] gonna to save the world
But [C] first we're gonna need a [F] plan
(We need a pla-an, we need a pla-an)
We want to make it better
Be[C]fore it gets out of [F] hand
(So out of ha-and, way out of ha-and)
[Bb] Climate change or stopping wars which one do we choose?
[F] Maybe we can throw a dice [C] catch us on the news
We're [F] gonna to save the world
But [C] first we're gonna need a [F] plan
(We need a pla-an, we need a pla-an)
We're gonna to save the world
But [C] first we're gonna need a [F] plan. [Bb][F][C][F][****]

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
