FUNDRAISER FOR UKRAINE AT HARBOURSIDE MARKET TODAY (SUNDAY 12 JUNE) FROM 8AM TO 2PM.

Melissa from Waterloo

Dear fellow Wellingtonians and visitors to our fine city.

Come eat some delicious food AND support the people of Ukraine at the same time! A rag-tag team of bakers will be at the famous Wellington fixture - Harbourside Market tomorrow ( Sunday 12 June ). The market is beside Te Papa Museum on Cable St. Our stall will be decked out in bright blue and yellow so we'll be hard to miss!

We are selling a wide range of lovingly home-baked food products and all proceeds will go to humanitarian aid and medical support for the children and adults of Ukraine affected by the war through two carefully chosen organisations (Ohmatdyt - ohmatdyt.com.ua... and Razom for Ukraine (razom means together in Ukrainian) - razomforukraine.org...).

As well as the food products a range of other Ukrainian themed items will be available for sale too.

We will be at the market from 8 am till 2 pm. Don't forget to bring cash!

We look forward to seeing you there.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.

This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.

We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Want the details? The Post has you covered.
