Woburn Masonic Trust

Marg from Waterloo

Woburn Masonic carers have been on strike again today. They certainly don’t do this lightly. The union carers just want set shifts to be able to plan their lives. Not be required to be available 24/7 and a mere $1 per hour weekend allowance. They don’t get overtime or time and half etc. Among other things.
The Masonic Trust have completed a multi million dollar apartment complex and are currently building a multi million dollar retirement village in Wainuiomata but all negations have failed as they stand by their claim they don’t have enough money. It’s not just about the money it’s about value care and respect. Not only will Woburn not part with ANY money but they obviously can’t afford to spare any value care or respect either.
SHAME ON YOU WOBURN MASONIC.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Begonia house to be demolished at botanic gardens

Karl from Alicetown

It's outrageous that the Wellington City Council are going to demolish the Begonia house at the Botanic gardens. This is an asset. One would have thought the green faction of the council would have supported fixing it. It's strange no one has questioned the price required to fix it. Cycle ways more important than begonia house i think not
