WHOOPIE
Hi Friend
This has been my passion project for the last 7 years ...building a Visitor Centre to allow regular visits to the oldest building in Wellington, built in the early 1850s by the first settlers, whose Arrival in 1840 we commemorate on Wellington Anniversary Day January 22nd. See Facebook "Christ Church Taita Visitor Centre"
The tiny church watches over the graves of the same settlers and their new friends, Maori as well as Pakeha, a symbol of Peace in an angry violent world
A number of people said it couldn't be done and refused to back it. It involved raising $400,000 in difficult times for building .. . We were dogged by Covid, advancing age and other problems. But HEY WE DID it!
Moral of the story: Have faith and IT WILL HAPPEN.
