MELLING line Lower Hutt saved 1991

Amazing what you save...AND now Melling is about to go ahead...Note many of the homes and businesses in Pharazyn St have gone and Patrol car sits watching daily.
1991 As the wife of a Traindriver I handed a petition to the then MP Joy McLauchlan to save Melling Line....If this had not happened we would not be in line for the Riverlink Melling proposal.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
