Renovation of asphalt driveway

Peter from Fairfield

I am considering 2 options of what to do with refurbishing / renewing my old asphalt driveway which is slightly damaged / marked in parts- approx 20 metres long.
# One cheap option is to is to place a thin asphalt overlay to the existing surface - has anyone used a local contractor to do this ? And if so, what company did a good job on this for you and how cost effective were they?

# Another option which is cheaper is to apply an asphalt paint over the area ( Resene Blacktop ) and this apparently is easy to apply with a Hi Solid Roller sleeve '

In doing this you are restricted to a black, red or green as a colour , with black being most popular.
Have any of you home owners got a black asphalt driveway done in this way that I could drive past and see from the road? PM on text if you wish

I would appreciate any comments / recommendations on doing this work.- either options

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? 🛻🚨🚓

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?

What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Wellington’s identity is built on its cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.
